I Finally Got to do Some Crafting

Wow! Christmas is just around the corner. I have been a bit behind of getting all the things on my Christmas "to do" list done with needing to do so much papework for work for the past 2 weeks. I had 46 reportcards to do along with some reports for some meetings with parents. After doing all the paperwork, hanging out with my kids, and doing all my daily choirs there is not much energy left in me to do much else. I did not do any stamping/crafting for about a week. I have been itching to get the ideas that I have in my head onto a card and was finally able to do it at 2 am on Monday. Good thing I was able to sleep in on Tuesday since it my day off from work.
Here are my 3 creations. All of them are made using stamps from Stampin Up. I think the sets that I used are retired. These cards were sent to 2 people that are part of the "Flood Swap" group from Stamp-Shack.com. For this past year each member in the group were assigned to people to "flood" with cards. This was the last month for this round.

If you look closely at the first one with the snowman on it, I added snowflakes in the background. For the one with the Christmas tree I added holly to the background.
This is a card that I made for a student for a local community college that is going to school to become a Speech Pathology assistant. She needed to complete some observation hours so she asked me if she could observe some of my sessions. She came it a week ago for a few hours as well as this week. I surprised her with this card on the second day with a little note to wish her the best of luck as she continues with her schooling and as she starts her career soon. The stamp set that I used is also a retired set from Stampin Up.
This card is made using the Stampin Up Top Notch Die and, thier 5 petal punch ( punched 2 of them out to make a poisetta to match with the background.), and one of their Christmas embossing folders. Both of the cards are the same with a different greeting on it. The first one is a card that I sent to a good to donate to a Women's Transition Center that a friend in Hawaii in collecting to donate to them.

Last but not least are the goodies that I sent to a lady in Minnesota that I was partnered up with for the 12 days of Christmas swap that I joined. Each person is assiged a person and is asked to send 12 things along with a card. All the items need to be wrapped up and numbered. Starting from the 12th of December each person is supposed to open one gift from their partner. On Christmas day the item that they open is supposed to be worth $10. Here are the goodies that I sent to her. (On her wishlist she wrote that she loves ribbon, flowers, and earthtone colors. )

Here they are all wrapped up. I thought it would be more fun to have the number be a little more fancy than just a number on a piece of paper.
One last creation. I put this gift together for one of my sisters as part of her birthday present. She likes Tokidoki and monkeys like I do so that is exactly what I got for her. Inside the package are two Tokidoki spoons from Yogurtland. If you have not gone to Yogurtland lately, the last 2 types of spoons being given out when you purchase a bowl of yogurt.
It was fun to get some stamping/crafting in even though it was done in the wee hours of the morning. It was definitely more fun than staying up to work on paperwork. :) Thanks for stopping by. I hope that you enjoyed my creations. (Please excuse the portions of the post that are underlined. I am not sure why they are underlined and how I can get rid of it.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours. We are thankful for each of you and feel very blest to have each of you in our lives. We gave some people these things with a tag that I made with our family on it.

We gave other people these candles and tags that I made. They were lots of fun to make until it got to the wee hours in the early morning and I was not finished. I made a total of 30 candles and tags. Here is the Thanksgiving card that I sent to some friends as well as for a all my swaps.

These are two great Thanksgiving cards that I received. The first one with the owls is made by my friend Nancy. She put glitter on all the eyes and put matching brads on the center owl. The card is even more spectacular in person. The second one is from my friend Cary. I love the color combination that she used.
Here are two cards that I received from my swap with my friend Susanna on Thanksgiving Sunday. Along with the cute cards she gave me a very cute Hello Kitty towel that expands when you put it in water. She told me that she made two for me because the first one did not meet her approval. Both of the cards are great. I am definitely not sure which one she did not like. The first one is pretty fancy with two pockets. The first pocket has a book marker that she put inside.

This is what I gave to Susanna along with her card. I saw the Hello Kitty bag at a craft faire that I went to and knew that she would like it.
The quality of two of the pictures on this post are poor because I could not download the pictures on a particular chip. Benson found that the chip has a crack on the side of it which is causing the pictures on it to not be able to be downloaded. :( The next best thing was to put the chip into his Play Station for us to view the pictures on the TV screen. We took pictures of the items that I wanted to download off the screen.
Okay, it's time to watch a movie with my family before we go to our "Thanksgiving Feast." We were supposed to watch a DVD together last night, but we all ended up falling asleep early, even me. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and be sure to not eat too much. :)

What Have I Made and Received

I have received some more ATC swaps in the mail in the past weeks along with my package from my secret swap sister and my secret sister. Here are the swaps that I received. Like usual the card that I made is always the first one in the set of cards. This is the "Floral ATC Swap."

These are from my "Leaves ATC Swap."

The next two are Christmas tag swaps. The first one each person was asked to create a tag with a "snowman" theme.

For the second one each person was assigned a different symbol from Christmas and was asked to come up with a tag. The tags from both swaps are awesome- much too pretty to use.

This is from my swap sister that lives in Australia. She made me a beautiful box with matching cards inside. She also made me some cute tags and a very nice Christmas card.

I have had a secret sister Debbie from Stamp Shack for the past 3 months. This is what I have sent to her. Each month I suprised her with things with the themes "Thanksgiving," "things that have to do with the ocean," and "summer." I stuck to them because they are are favorite. I also added some bling and pop dots since it was on her wishlist. The last package that I sent to her I added 2 packages of my favoarite 100 calorie snacks. She wrote that she is on a diet so if I sent her any snacks to keep it small.

It's very funny my Secret Sister was also assigned to surprise me with gifts for three months. It was extra fun receiving goodies from her too. It was like Christmas for three month. :) Here are the sets of goodies that she sent to me.

These two cards are from my "One Card Swap" partner in Oct.- Anne from Arizona. She sent me two cards because the first one seemed to have gotten lost. It finally made it to my mailbox this month. She was nice enough to send me a second one.
Last but not least is a card from my friend Patty. She did such an awesome job with the build a bear die from Stampin Up. It took lots of time and patience to make the card. Thank you so much Patty for such a super cute card.
I think I am all caught up with what I have made recently and the cards/projects that I have received. I hope that you have been inspired. Happy stamping/crafting. See you again soon!

A Special Day to Honor Brave Men and Women

Happy Veteran's Day! As we honor the brave men and women today that have and continue to serve our country my family and I pray that God will continue to watch over them and their families. May we never take for granted the freedom we have. Forever we will be grateful for the freedom that we have because of these special men and women.
To honor these brave men and women a good friend and her sons made this flag to give to different people that they know. What a great idea. Isn't it great!

Some Goodies and My Adenture on My Day Off

I hope that all of you are doing well. I have not been to doing much crafting/stamping this week. My voice was very hoarse on Wednesday and Thursday. I am glad that it's back today. I was trying to get some extra rest this week in case I was coming time with some thing. Thankfully even though my voice was hoarse I still felt okay.
On Monday I did make a card and gift for my swap sister. It is the swap that Dawn' had sign ups for. I have taken several of her online classes/turtorials and this is my third time joining her swap. I had a great time making a card and 3D project the past 2 times and loved all the stuff that I received from my swaps sisters so I thought it would be fun to participate in another swap. For this round we were asked to send our swap sister a hand stamped card, hand stamped gift, and a candy treat from our country. All accessories and stamps need to from SU. I made my swap sister Michelle that lives in Australia a card,a
pouch full of little Hershey bars, and included a mint chocolate 3 Musketeer.

Here is a close up picture of what I made.

It was so much fun using my new set from Stampin Up (Patterned Pines) for the corners of my cards that matched perfectly with one of their embossing folders-Petals of Plenty. I could not find a SU Christmas greetings big enough for my card. The greeting I was able to find is not a Christmas one but that was the one I was able to find that went with the size of my card. I thought the saying was fine since I stamped "Merry Christmas" inside. What do you think?
Besides making the goodies for my swap for my swap sister I unfortunately did not make anything else this week. I did however receive several of my ATC swaps in the mail. I sign up for some of the swaps from time to time at stamp-shack.com if anyone is interested in signing up for any. Here are the ones that I received. The first ATC in each set is the one that I made. Arent' they great?

These are my Riley the Moose ATCs. These are my monogram themed ones.
These are my monkey themed ATCs. Most of the people that participated in the swap as you can see used the Changito Monkey. He is one of my favorite monkeys.

These are my birthday themed swaps.

Besides receiving some of the ATCs swaps in the mail I received some goodies from my friend Teri. She surprises me from time to time with some a cool card that she has made along with some extra goodies. She did give me a bag full of M&Ms but unfortnately they have been eaten already. They are very yummy! I of course shared them with Benson and the kids. Thanks Teri for your RAK.

Here is a close up picture of the shaker card that she made for.

One last thing before I end this post. This has nothing to do with crafting, but I am sure that those of you reading this post will be interested in knowing that I went to Hello Kitty exhibit in Culver City, Calif. this week on Wednesday in honor of her 35th anniversary on my day off from work with a good friend from church. I know how much many out there like Hello Kitty. (Even though my voice was hoarse I still had a good time.) My friend surprised me with these goodies from the store at the exhibit when she went to there for the first time on the weekend. She is always so sweet surprising me with such fun things. She had so much fun that she had to go again. She remembered that my favorite color is purple so she attached a ribbon with Hello Kitty written in purple. If you click on the picture to make it bigger you can take closer look at the Hello Kitty trinket that she got for me.
This is what I surprised her with. She likes Tokidoki like I do so I decided to give her this cup from Yogurtland (No, I did not eat out of the cup.) full of some of her favorite goodies- A My Melody Pez Dispenser, chocolate bars, and some Hawaiian coconut jello mix. I stamped a tag for it that says "YUM YUM."
Here is picture of the two of us in front of Hello Kitty's house at the exhibit.
It was lots of fun looking at all the cool Hello Kitty items and art pieces.

These are two of my favorites.

They also had a store full of items with her on it as well as a cafe with some food shaped like her face.

That's all I have to share for this time. I have some projects that I need to be completing this month so be sure to stop again soon to check out what I have made.
