Summer Vacation Is Over

Summer vacation is officially over today for my son and I. :( So sad to see such a fun and memorable summer with family and friends come to an end. Last night we wrote him a special beginning of the school year message. Before my son went to bed and to school we prayed with him asking for God's blessings and protection upon him during this new school year. We also gave him a beginning of the year gift. As soon as we gave him the gift he openned it.

He was so happy to get to add more superhero action figures to his collection. He was also super happy to have a superhero backpack and lunchbox to bring to school.

He can never have enough superhero stuff. Here is our little man on his way to school.

My hubby and I always like dropping my son off together on his first day of school. Unfortunately I could not today since I had to get a TB shot this morning at work. We thank the Lord for helping us make it through with flying colors on our first day back to school/work. BTW, before I end today's post I wanted to share with you a picture of what my hubby and my kids got for me as my beginning of the year gift.

He knows how much I love the new collectibles from Sanrio.

My Cousin's Sarah's Birthday Dinner

This evening we went out to dinner for my cousin Sarah's birthday.

It was lots of fun hanging out with our extended while enjoying a yummy meal at Black Angus. We all enjoyed the sampler appetizer.

Benson and I ordered prime rib.

Our kids ordered chicken tenders.

Sarah got a huge cookie in a pan with a scoop of ice for her birthday from the restaurant.

Having dinner with our extended family was a perfect way to end the weekend. I hope that all of you had a good weekend.

Two Fantastic Cards and Two RAKs

It is always so much fun and puts a smile on my face when I receive cards and goodies in the mail. I recently received this beautiful card from my friend Cary.

I received this nice cards and a cute pocket from my friend Gracie.

Thank you my dear friends for your wonderful creations. This RAK is from Shani my Secret Sister from April.

I received these goodies from her last month. She's been very busy so my RAK was a bit delayed in getting to me. Shani I hope that things have settled down. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time!

Birthday Cards

Happy Monday! I feel exhausted today. I am ready to go back to bed even though it is only 10:45am. My family and I went to Disneyland yesterday from 3pm to 11pm after church. Hopefully I get to take a nap today. :) I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend. Besides going to Disneyland this weekend I spent most of Saturday crafting. I was making some goodies for some friends as part of their gifts. Stay tune for what I made in a post next week. :) For now I am going to share with you some birthday cards that I made.

The two friends that I made the card for just happen to both like pink and brown. I hope that you like I made for my friends. See you again soon!

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers, and Even More Flowers

Are you surprised that I have two posts this week? :) I am sorry that they are not both crafty posts. I am glad that I have a crafty one to share with you today. The cards that I made last week was made using the "Fun Flower" die from Stampin Up.

I had lots of fun making the cards using the same layout but in different colors and with different sentiments. The one with different shades of pink was made for my tea swap partner, Lynn, this month. This is the card that Lynn made for me.

Thanks for stopping by today to check out what I have to share. Have a good rest of the week.

Our Mini Vacation

My family and I just got back late last night from our mini vacation. We were in beautiful San Diego for 2 1/2 days. We loved being there because it reminds us so much of another place that we enjoy visiting- Hawaii. SD however is much cooler. We were very happy to get away from the summer heat for a few days. :) On Saturday we enjoyed some shopping, sitting on coin some coin operated rides, and enjoyed a delicious Japanease meal for dinner.

On Sunday we spent the day at Legoland. My son liked the Knights Jousting ride and looking the the new Star Wars area in Mini Land.

My daughter's favorite ride there is the Fairytale Book ride and taking pictures with the princesses.

>
After spending majority of the day at Legoland we went back to the hotel for a little swim. Then we went to our favorite restaurants in SD for dinner- Anthony's By the Bay. As we were waiting to be seated we walk around the pier. The pieces of art along the pier were lots of fun to see

and we loved the beautiful scenery.

Here are some of the declicous food that we ordered.

On Monday we were planning to go to Legoland for a second day, but decided to save our second visit for a later date. Instead we went to Seaport Village after having brunch. (We slept in so did not make it for breakfast at the hotel.) We had lots of fun looking at the shops there

and taking a stroll along the pier.

It was the perfect afternoon for a stroll. On the way home we stopped by Disneyland for dinner and to ride on some rides. What a fantastic few days it was spending time together and having lots of fun.

It Was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Last night we went to watch Mary Poppins the musical for part 3 of our anniversary celebration. We loved it! Out of the three musicals that we have seen this summer "Mary Poppins" by far was the best. Before we watched the musical we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant.

The food we ordered was delicous.

As soon as we got to the concert hall we took a picture with the movie billboard.

Here is the stage 5 minutes before the musical started.

We are thankful that we have been able to purchase such good seat for all the musicals that we have seen. This time was not any different. Our favorite parts of the musical were when Mary Poppins flew up the banister and over the audience. We also liked how Bert was able to tap dance up and down the walls of the stage and on the ceiling. It was very cool how they were able to sing the letters to supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (Yes, I googled how to spell it correctly.) so fast and do the handmotions to represent each letter. I also thought that all their costumes were awesome. I liked Mary Poppin's outfits the best. She has three different coats with matching boots. If Mary Poppins is ever showing in your area I strongly suggest that you go watch it. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

More Double Embossed Cards

Happy August everyone! I can't believe that is August already. Today has been a slow day since I am recovering from all the fun that my hubby and I had at Disneyland yesterday celebrating our anniversary. It was definitely an extra magical anniversary. Today I would like to share the other cards that I made using the double embossing technique that I learned. I shared some of them with you back in June and July, but just keep forgetting the post the rest of them. Here they are.

I also made a card with a matching goodie bag for a friend's b-day. Inside the goodie bag I put two pieces of Godiva candy and a giftcard from Starbucks.

What a fun technique! As you can tell by now I love it.
