A Gift From Our Hearts

The principal at the school that I work at asked me to help them order some Hawaiian themed rubber stamps for the staff to use on the reward charts at the end of each intervention session. Hawaiian stamps match perfectly with the name of our intervention program- "Study Island." A few years ago I helped the school order some Hawaiian stamps. When the principal asked me if I can help them order some more I was more then happy to it. The stamps arrived straight from Hawaii today from a company called TAJ. They by the way have very cute stamps. Here are the stamps that I ordered for my school. Aren't they cute?

Because the principal, staff and students have been such a blessing to me, Benson and I decided to surprise them with the stamps as a special gift from our family. I praise God for each one of them and consider them just like family.

I put the stamps in this bright hot pink bag and made a tag to attach to it.
I know that I promised some pictures of the decorations that Benson and I have been working on, but they are still in the works. I promise that the next post will have pictures of them. Until then, take care!

A Card For Him and One For Her Too

I hope that this is finding each of you doing well. This week has been a very busy one for me with paperwork to do for work to prepare for meetings as well as making decorations for Kylie's party which will be this Saturday. I have not been too motivated to work on much so it has been taking a lot longer to do everything. I hope to get motivated soon and speed things along. :) Thankfully as usual Benson has been helping me get ready for the party. I did force myself to make "thank you" cards for two of my preschool students from church for the Christmas gifts that they gave to me. Yes, I know it's a little late. I used a the same layout for both card. Here is the famale version of the card and

here is the male version of the card.

It was lots of fun making the cards for them as soon as I got my creative juices running. I hope that they had as much fun receiving the cards in the mail as I did making the cards for them. By the way, the stamps are the from one of the Build a Bear sets from Stampin Up. The punches that I used are also from Stampin Up.
Thanks for stopping by today. Please come back to visit soon to see some pictures of Kylie's party along with the decorations. I may even have some more cards to share with you. :)

A Surprise and Some Thing Yummy

My good friend Diana from work surprised me with some goodies last week. The red packages are much too cute to use for Chinese New Year. Of course my favorite one is the one with Hello Kitty on it. She also gave me some Vietnamese coffee mix which was extra yummy and came in handy last week when it was cold and raining.

Thanks so much Diana for such wonderful treats. They surely made my day at work an even brighter one.
One other thing I wanted to share with you is a lovely Swedish Sandwich cake that I had the yummy opportunity to eat at a stamping bruch workshop. All the food by the way was delicious, but this was by far the most creative. (I had to share this with all of you because I was so impressed by how fancy and creative it looked.) The lady that made it used a round piece of bread and sliced it into 3 layers. One layer had egg salad, the second one had meatballs, and the third layer had jelly. The outside of it had sour cream, cucumbers, tomatoes, ham and shrimps. This is the most fancy an d pretty sandwich I ever had. :)

I hope that all of you had a good weekend and is looking forward to starting another week. This will be an extra busy week for me as I will be making decorations and making party favor tags for my daughter's princess theme party this Saturday.
I am sorry that I don't have any stamping projects to share with you today. Hopefully I will be able to get some stuff done soon.

New ATCs and a Gift for a Friend

It's been cold and raining here all week in California. I usually feel extra lazy in this type of weather. I had to push myself a bit to get motivated to work on my ATC swaps that are due very soon. Thankfully Benson helped me cut the cardstock for them which saved me lots of time. By the way, he won't need to help me cut the cardstock anymore for my ATCs because I received the Sizzix die that I ordered that will help me cut the cards- no more measuring. Since he won't need to help me do the cutting, maybe he can help me do the stamping. :) I guess he can still help me die cut the cards out. Here are the two ATCs that I made. For the first one, the people that signed up for the swap was asked to make ATC's that have Riley the Moose on it. (Everytime I see a swap witht this theme I can't help but sign up for it because Riley is such a cutie.)

I stamped snowflakes on the background using my versa mark pad and colored Riley and outlined the snowman using my Copic markers. After cutting the stamped image out I added glitter to the snow, Riley's hat and the snowball that he is holding.
The second one that I did we were asked to make the ATCs with a birthday theme.

I used a rainbow pad to stamp the cupcakes as well as the sentiment in the middle. The cupcakes is from a Stampin Up set called Darling Dots and the sentiment is from a set called Birthday Best. The confetti in the background is from the long time retired set Button Bear. I can't wait until I get the ATC swaps in the mail. I will be sure to post a picture of them when I do.
Last night I made a graduation gift for my friend Vanessa. She graduated from college in December during her Winter quarter. I was meeting with her today so I thought that it would be fun to surprise her with a card and a little treat.

I used a graduation roller from Stampin Up for the side of the card and decided that it would be cute to use the same roller for the sour cream container. The girl stamp is from Me and My Big Idea. I filled the container with some of my favorite Hawaiian cookies. After I sealed it I crimped the edges, added a tag, and tied it up with raffia.
I hope that you have enjoyed your visit for today. I will be back to post a few more things soon. Have a fantastic weekend!

Some Fun Cards to Share

I'm back like I said I would in my post from earlier today. I hope that all of you had a good day. Here are two cards that I CASED from two classes that I went in December. They were so cute and so much fun to make the first time that I could not pass up making them again to send to some friends.

I made another one one of my snowman punch art cards as a "thank you" for a friend. This time I made it into a gift card holder.

I have been feeling a bit lazy with stamping lately so I don't have anything else to share that I have made. I however have a very cute card that my friend Susanna gave to me using her new stamps from Hero Art. Along with the set that she used on the card she also ordered another one. I can't wait to see what she makes with that set. Be sure to check back to see what she makes. Along with the card, she also gave me a little cute RAK. She knows how much I like monkeys so she gave me a set of wooden monkeys to thread onto a string to make a bracelet. I better hide the monkeys from my kids. They like monkeys too. Maybe even more than I do. :)

Tonight I will be working on two "thank you" cards to mail to my Sunday School students for their Christmas gifts. Yes, I know it's a bit late. I am going to mail it them as a little surprise. I will also be working on two ATC swaps. I will hopefully get a chance to post a picture of them some time this week. Have a great week and God bless!

Goodies Fit for a Princess

Happy Martin Luther King's Day! I hope that you are having a wonderful day off as we remember how a great man paved the way for equal rights and peace many years ago. For those of you who live in the Los Angeles area I hope that all of you are staying safe, warm and dry in this rain. I think it's supposed to be raining all week. Personally, I don't like the rain, but I know how much we need it so I am thankfulf for it.
For this mornings post, I want to share a swap that I recently signed up for. I signed up for a swap on Stamp Shack called the "Princess Spoiler." Each person that signs up fills out a wishlist. Each person that signed up gets to be a princess. Basically, one person for the next six months gets to be the princess and is showered with items that they wrote on their wishlist. The requirement is that we need to send things on the person's wishlist and needs to spend at least $15.
This month a lady named Faith is the princess. I can't wait to be the princess and get showered with things on my wishlist. :) Here are the fun goodies that I choose to shower Princess Faith with from her wishlist.

Besides the goodies from her wishlist I also made her a card using a crown from Quick Kutz and added texture to the card using one of thier embossing folders. I made the card using her favorite colors. (I decided that it would be fun to make a similar card each month using the reigning princess' favorite colors.)
Thanks for dropping by today. If I have time later on today I will post some cards that I have made and received.

I Am As Good As New Again

Sorry, I have been missing in action for a bit. All week I have had an awful sinus infection. I have heard that many people are having them this time of year. I hope that you are not experiencing one now or will be experiencing one anytime soon. Other than prepping for some meetings for work I did not feel like doing much stamping. I worked half day on Thurs. and took the entire day off on Friday. The medicine I was taking was making me tired so I thought it would be best for me to stay home and rest. Plus I was loosing my voice. It felt very good to be able to rest. I am thankful to the Lord for His healing and for the much needed rest. I think I finally felt back to normal yesterday- as normal I guess as I can be. :)
While I was a bit under the weather this week, I received a extra cute stuffed cat from Build-a-Bear that Benson and my kids ordered for me as a New Years gift.

It was my favorite cat- Miss Hello Kitty dressed up in her 35th Anniversary outfit and special collectors necklace. Check out her cool, sparkling crocs with red rhinestones. Isn't she just too cute? I gladly add her to my collection of Hello Kitty Build a Bears. :) Thanks Benson, Zachy, and Kylie for such a wonderful present. (It brightened my day briefly until my nose and throat started irritating me again.)
Here are pictures of some of the "thank you" cards that I received. My good friend Susanna made this for me using her Big Shot. Thanks for all the hard work Susanna that you put into putting Miss Kitty together for me.

If you take a closer look at it you will notice that she added some glitter to her wings and textured the background. She even die cutted the flowers in her hair purple. Thanks Susanna for remembering that my favorite color is purple.

These two cards are not handmade, but I could not pass posting a picture of them. They were just too cute. The first one is from arbrambooks.com and the second is from kabaheadkreations.com Arent' they just adorable?
I appreciate all of you out there that have taken time to write and send me a "thank you" card. If you have not received one from me yet, don't worry, I still have a few to make. My apologies for the delay.
I hope that all of you are having a good weekend. I hope to be back soon to share some more fun things with you. Until then, take care and God bless!

It's 2010!

I hope that all of you are having a good day on this first day of 2010. I wanted to take some time to say "thanks" for joining me as I started my blogging adventure in the summer of 2008. As some of you know I did not continue to start consistently posting until a little more than a year later. Sorry it took me some time to get used to blogging and to find time to do it. I hope that you have enjoyed visiting my blog and have found the projects inspring. It has surely been a fun adventure and a great source of relaxation for me as I write my posts and download pictures. It has also been fun meeting new friends along the way that enjoy the art of stamping and/or crafting.
What did you all do last night to bring in the new year? My good friend, Susanna and I brought in the new year with a bang by creating some fun things last night with my Big Shot. She recently received one for her birthday and loves it. We made two Hello Kitty bumble bees with the help of Kylie.

Here is a picture of one of them. Thanks Susanna for sharing your die with me. I may have to give in and purchase one. She is so cute dressed up as bee. She is a bit time consuming to make, but lots of fun.

We also made these flowers with one of the dies from Stampin Up. We made two without texture

and added texture to the rest using one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders. Susannna suggested making these for the girls that attend Kylie's birthday party. That's a great idea, but we will see if I get around to making them. Any volunteers to help me make them? While we were die cutting away Susanna's hubby and son along with my hubby and son were playing video games. Besides playing video games and playing with the Big Shot we also enjoyed a nice meal together and ended the night with some yummy dessert-key lime pie and cupcakes. Aren't these cupcakes much too pretty to eat? Susanna, Kym and Kai thank you so much for the fun evening of fellowship together. Thanks you also for all the pastries and for the dessert.

After Susanna left I opened up the bag of goodies that she gave to me. What cute treats! I love them all. Thanks Susanna for always giving me such fun treats. I hope that you like the goodies that I gave to you. :)
I hope that all of you will have a great rest of the day and a wonderful rest of
2010. Be sure to check periodically to see if I have posted anything new. This year will be a busy one, but I will do my best to post as often as I can.
