Some Fall Cards

My gums have completely healed from my dental procedure that I had a week ago. I accidentally used a straw today during dinner and my gums passed the test and did not unclot. I praise God for His healing and for helping it be okay this evening. (I guess I could technically use a straw today, but I just wanted to wait just a few days more just in case.) Today I would like to share two cards that I received in the mail. I am calling them "Fall" cards since I don't celebrate Halloween. The first one is made by my friend Grace

and the second one is made by my friend Nancy.

Both of them did a great job in making such detailed cards. Thanks ladies for taking time to make me the cards to send my way.

A Gift Tag

A big "thanks" and hug goes out to all of you that have kept me in your thoughts and prayers as I had my dental procedure last Friday. It did not go as bad as I thought and I praise God for helping me heal without any complications. I've had to make a few sacrifices as my gum is healing... I have had to drink ice cofee and the pineapple juice with bolba drink that I ordered without a straw which making the drinks not as much fun. I am happy though to be able to enjoy the drinks anyway.
Well, today I would like to share a gift tag that I made that I attached to a friends RAK.

Here it is attached to the gift.

I used a Sizzix die called "Two Tags" from Stampin Up and one of their embossing folders called "Vintage Wallpaper." I used two of my favorite color combos. I sure hope the friend that I made the tag for likes what I came up with as well as the goodies that I sent to her. Thanks for stopping by!

A Card With My Favorite Character On It

I am usually super happy when Friday comes around, but it is not the case today. I have a dentist appointment this afternoon to extract one of my wisdom teeth that has a cavity. I am a super chicken when it comes to pain so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I am praying that it will not be too painful and that my gum will heal without any problems. Well, I thought I'd better post some thing this morning since I probably will not be in the mood to after my appointment this afternoon. I received a super cute card from my friend Cary in the mail yesterday.

It arrived just in time to help me be in a better mood for my extraction. Cary knows what a big fan I am of Hello Kitty so she surprised me with another card with my favorite character on it. Thanks Cary for such a cute and creative card. I appreciate all of you out there that have sent me e-mails this week to help me get this afternoon. All your encouragement, support, and prayers is much needed and very much appreciated. Big hugs to all of you!

Stamps and DSP That Coordinate

My friend Jill made this beautiful card for me using a set from Stampin Up called "Friends Never Fade" and it's matching DSP.

It's awesome that the stamp set and paper coordinate so well together. I do not have the set or paper yet, but I think it may be going on my wishlist now. Thanks Jill for always sending me such great cards. I hope that everyone is having a good week. For those in the Los Angeles area I hope that you are enjoying the wet weather. I sure am not. I don't like rain. It's not supposed to rain after today. I hope that the weather man was right. :)

Two Cards and a RAK From Susanna

Happy Monday! I am exhausted already. Is it Friday yet? Unfortunately it's not. I am praying for extra strength from above this week as I have lots to do and am running out of steam already. I hope that all of you have more energy left than I do. Well, today I would like to share a two cute cards that I received from my GF Susanna for our monthly swap.

Unfortunately, these two cards will be the last ones she will be making for me for awhile since her new bundle of joy will be born within a month or so. Instead of making time to craft she has some other things that she needs to get busy doing before her baby is born. Susanna e-mailed me on Saturday afternoon and told me that she made me two cards. Her e-mail inspired me to make two cards for her too. Stay tune for the cards that I made for her. I am going to likely make the two cards again for a few of my other swaps with friends this month so I am not going to reveal the cards just yet. Before I end this post here is a picture of the RAK that Susanna included with her cards. Some of them are pretty yummy too. :) Thanks Susanna for always being so thoughtful.

Have a great rest of the week!

An Elegant Card

I received a very elegant card from my friend Teri this week.

Yellow is not one of my favorite colors, but I love how her card turned out. I especially like how she put pearls on the butterfly. It makes it look extra pretty. Thanks Teri for taking time to create such a wonderful card to send my way. It definitely brought a smile to my face. Does receiving a card in the mail especially a handmade card put a smile on your face?

A Baby Shower

On Saturday a friend and I gave our good friends,

Susanna, Kym and their son a baby shower at our house.

The theme of the party was "monkeys" so I made invitations in the shape of a bib and put monkeys on it.

I put monkeys on the decorations

and the take out boxes that I purchased from a party store. Each box was filled with little Snicker bars which is one of Susanna's favorite kind of chocolate.

Here is a close up picture of the favors.

The only decoration that I did not put a monkey on was the banner.

We asked the guests to write a special message to the couple that is having a baby along with filling out a questionaire about which parent the baby will take after with different traits.

Before lunch was served, the guests were asked to write the baby a special birthday note for each of her birthdays until she is 21 years old. Basically one note per birthday was written to the baby. This activity was done per request of my friend that is having the baby. I decorated stationery for the guests to write a special message on.

Here is the food that we enjoyed

along with the cute cake.

After lunch we played 2 games. The winners each received a container of popcorn and a giftcard from Paneras. The party ended with the parents to be opening gifts.

It was lots of fun having the party for Susanna and Kym. May the Lord continue to watch over them as they continue to prepare for the birth of their new bundle of joy next month. May He also give them wisdom and strength to raise the baby as well as her older brother.

Three Cards

Happy Friday! I hope that this post is finding everyone well. Today I will be 3 cards with you. My GF Gracie a very cute easel card.

My friend Susanna made this card for me last month along with the box. I did not realize that she made me a box and a card just recently. Sorry about that Susanna.

My third and final card that I will be sharing today is a card that I made for a couple that my family and I had dinner with last weekend. The wife just like me likes Hello Kitty.

I made an exact card awhile back, but this time I textured her bow and the background. I like it much better this way. Thanks for stopping by. I need to head off to finish the decorations for a baby shower another friend and I are throwing for our good friends Susanna and Kym tomorrow at my house. Stay tune for for a picture of the decorations and party favors that I came up with. Have a great weekend!

RAKs, Prayers, and E-mails Arrived Just in Time

This has been an extra busy and tiring week. There has been much time for me to do any crafting with except for making a few items for a shower that I will be hosting with a friend this weekend. I will share the goodies that I came up with after the party. :) Since I have not doing much crafting besides the shower goodies, today I would like to share some RAK that I have received. My good friend Grace surprised me with these goodies.

2 friends from work gave me these two Snoopy items. Everyone at work including the kids all know how much I like Snoopy items.

All the RAKs were given to me two weeks ago when I was having an extremely stressful week. They were given to me just in time to help put a smile on my face despite all that was going on. Besides the RAKs that I received that week many other friends were very supportive and encouraging to me through their prayers and e-mails. I thank the Lord for each of you and for thier love.

A Fantastic Weekend

It was such a fantastic weekend that I don't want it to end just yet. :) It started off by my hubby and I attending a Hawaiian concert in San Diego where one of our favorite Hawaiian artists performed- Keaili'i Reichel. (For some reason we did not notice that he was performing Friday locally. We have gone to all his concerts in the past 5 years, but for some reason missed the news that he was performing this time. We would have been very disappointed if we were not able to go. Thankfully my SIL and BIL were able to take care of the kids and were able to get front and center tickets. These tickets were even better than what we've had in previous years when we have purchase tickets much earlier. About 20% of the seats in the back were not filled. All the seats are usually filled.) We left for SD as soon as my hubby got home from work. We would have been on time for the concert, but were stuck at a freeway exit for 30 minutes. That was very upsetting. Of course attending the concert helped us relax. Here are a few pictures of Mr. Reichel.

The concert was awesome as usual with him and his backup singers and mini orchestra. As usual he had his award winning hula dancers perform. This time he also had a question and answer time where the audience got to ask him questions. This made this concert a lot more personable.
Before the concert we grabbed a bit from Sansei

and afterwards we grabbed another bite from Uma Sushi. Yes, we were very hungry for Japanese food on Friday.

On Saturday I attended a class and then had some friends over for dinner. We ordered Hawaiian food for dinner and our friends brought over some dessert.

They also surprised us with two Vinylmation Mickey collectible figures from Disneyland to add to my collection.

Today my family and I went to church and ended our weekend by going to a Beauty and the Beast Sing Along at the Al Capitan Theater in Hollywood.
We had VIP tickets so had very good seats. We also each enjoyed a drink and a pucket of popcorn. At the beginning of the movie, Belle did a little performance. Kylie was extra happy to her. When Belle came out she said "wow."

All of us enjoyed the movie. It was extra special for my hubby and I to watch "Beauty and the Beast" again because the first time we saw it in the theaters was when we had our first date. Zach had a good time laughing at different humorous parts of the movie. After the movie we went shopping at the Minnie and Mickey Soda Fountain Disney store. The store had an area where you can order food and eat as well as a store with Disney items.

Before going to dinner we stopped by a Sanrio store where we found some very cute Hello Kitty Hollywood collectible items.

My favorite was the doll of her. We ate dinner at Hardrock Cafe.

I hope that all of you had a fantastic weekend too and will have a blessed week ahead.

September's One Card Swap (OCS)

Happy October! I can't believe that it is October already, can you? Last months OCS theme was "summer" to bid summer a final farewell. I miss the summer already and can't wait for it to come around again. I was paired up with Joni for the swap. This is the creative card that she made for me. Thanks Joni for such a cute card.

I made this easel card for her using palm trees from one of my favorite Hawaiian sets from Stampin Up called "Tropical Party." The bears are from a company called Taj-a company in Hawaii.

Have a great weekend!
