Anything Goes Swap

Last month  I was paired up with Chris for the "Anything Goes Swap." She sent me a card as well as some extra goodies.
She initially sent me the card, but it did not get to me because it did not have enough postage. Unfortunately she  sent me a second card after she received the first one back in the mail.  She gave me the goodies to apologize about her first card not making it to me.  That was totally not necessary, but so super nice and generous of her.  This is what I made for Chris.

Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Celebrate!

My sinus infection is driving me nuts!  I am so thankful that my voice is back.  I am praying that my sinus infection will go away soon so that I will be more in the mood to work on my crafting projects.  Well, for today's post I will be sharing my tea swap for this month.  We were asked to make a card with a "celebration" theme and to use the colors blue, white, and gold.  These are optional to put on the cards we make, but I always think it's fun to follow the theme for the month.  Here is the card that I made.
It was super fun coloring with my Copics after I embossed the cake in gold.  This is what Mary made for me the swap.  I just love how all the colors in her card coordinate so well together.
Thanks for stopping by.

My "Thank You" Cards

I thank the Lord that my daughter's b-day went well and that my hubby made through in one piece with the limited amount of sleep that we had.  I am especially grateful because I had a sinus infection all week and had a very hoarse voice on the day of her party.  Thankfully my voice is just about back to normal.  Now that my daughter's decorations are checked off the my "to do" list it's time to work on some other fun projects.  First on my list are the "thank you" cards that I am making for my Christmas presents.   Yes, I am a little behind.  I made and sent out half of them a few weeks ago.  I need to finish the other half this week.  This is what I've been making.

I've had this cute stamp for awhile, but just never had a chance to ink it up.  It was lots of fun making this card. I used my Copics to color the sky and the snowglobe base and put Stickles on the snowflakes and on the snow on the ground.  My favorite part was using the embossing folders from Stampin Up for the background.

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year my dear friends that celebrate this holiday.  I hope that you will have a Christ filled Year of the Dragon and will have a wonderful time bringing in the new year with family and friends.  I will be celebrating next weekend with my hubby's family and with my side of the family some time next month when the restaurants aren't as crazy.

My Daughter's B-day Celebration Part 2

We had my daughter's 5th b-day party with family and friends yesterday at our house.  My hubby and I stayed up several nights in a row until the wee hours in the morning working on decorations for her party.  Her party had a Rupunzel theme.  Here are some of the decorations that we made.

These are the tags that I made for her party favors.  I wrote a special message on the back of each one.

Here is the food that we enjoyed for lunch

and the delicious mango cake.
All of us had an extra special time celebrating. Even the adults had a fun time.  :)

My hubby and I always have a wonderful time prepping for our kids' parties, but we are always thankful when the festivities are over so that we can go onto other projects.

Dinner With a Good Friend

I hope that everyone is having a good week so far.  I am feeling a bit stressed right now with trying to prep for my daughter's b-day party that will be this Saturday.  I feel like there's just not enough time to prep for the party, do my usual chores and keep up my daily workouts.  It would come in handy especially at times like this to have as many hands as an octopus.  LOL!  Today I would like to share some pictures with you of the time a good friend and I went out to dinner.  We went out to dinner a week ago at Islands.  We shared a burger
and a salad.

We of course ordered dessert too.
Here we are enjoying our dessert.
Before leaving I gave her a little RAK and gave her this card that I made.
She loves ladybugs so everytime I make her a card I try to include a ladybug on it.

Celebrating My Daughter's B-day Part 1

I hope that everyone had a good weekend.  I had a wonderful, but busy one.  I am so happy that I had yesterday off from work for Dr. Martin Luther King's b-day so I can rest up a bit before starting another busy week.  Over the weekend, my family and I celebrated my daughter's b-day at Disneyland and ate dinner at one of the Disney hotel's at
For those of you who are not familar with Goofey's Kitchen, it's a restaurant where many different characters come by to each table to greet the guests and take pictures with them.  We were fortunate enough to meet 7 different characters.  One of our favorites was Mulan.

Another one of our favorite characters was Cinderella and the mouse Perla.

We of course enjoyed the lovely buffet too. My favorite was the peanut butter pizza and mac and cheese pizza.

The prime rib was very good too.  Before heading home after dinner, we went to Build a Bear. My son enjoyed the pasta and the lemon bar for dessert the most.  Of course my daughter liked interacting with the characters even more than the food.  At the end before we left the restaurant she was given a Mickey Mouse chocloate cupcake and everyone in the restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

We were going to go back into the amusement park after dinner, but it started raining so we went to Build a Bear in Downtown Disney.   My daughter and I each built a Hello Kitty.  My son helped me build mine.
Hers is the white one and I built a red one in honor of  Valentine's Day.  :)  Iloved the outfit that I picked out because it has little Hello Kitty heads all over her skirt.   Now I'm off to work on making decorations for my daughter's b-day party on Saturday.  Stay tune for a post next week on what I made.

Card and Tag Swap For December

Happy Thursday!  So happy that my busy work day is over.  I hope that everyone has a good day doing whatever you had planned.  I am looking forward to a nice quiet night watching Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice while I do some crafting.  BTW, I finally did some crafting yesterday in the afternoon, but only had a chance to make one card.  In the evening for some reason I lost my MOJO.  I hope that it is back tonight when I need to start working on some projects.  As I mentioned yesterday, I will be sharing the swaps this week that I participated in last month.  Today's post is dedicated to my card and tag swap (CATS).  This is what I came up with.

I saw a card online similar to what I made, but I made my ornaments 3D and embossed the background.    I think making the ornaments 3D makes the card pop more.  The tags open up so you could write message inside.   I had lots of fun making the card and tag.  This is unfortunately the last post that I will be having for the CATS since the person that is organizing it is no longer going to continue the swap.  I really enjoyed joining the swap for past 6 months.  I am a little sad to see it come to an end.  Hopefully one day it will start up again.

Santa Secret Sister Swap

My weekend was super tiring so I have been very behind with blogging, crafting, etc.  I think today I am finally back to normal- well as normal as possible.  :)  Today I will be sharing what I made for my Santa Secret Sister swap for last month for Leanne.  This is what I made and sent her way.  Leanne, I am so glad that you like what I made and sent your way.

Stay tune for a few more crafty posts of swaps that I participated in last month.  Until then, God bless and happy crafting!  :)

Handmade Christmas Cards

Happy Friday!  I hope that everyone is doing well.  I think that I have finally recovered from Christmas and my mini trips to different amusement parks with my family.  Hopefully I will get around to doing some crafting tonight.  :)  Even though I have not done any crafting since the new year, I do have some awesome cards to share with you that I received for Christmas.
                                                                     From Susan

From Jill

                                                                         From Cary

                                                                     From Melita

Last, but not least this is from Shirl.  She also made me a beautiful calendar.

It's always lots of fun receiving Christmas cards, but even more fun when they are handmade.  One day if I start in January and make some cards each month maybe I can mail handmade cards out.  I am not  sure if I can make 225 of them though.

Some Fun and Crafty Items For Christmas

With such a busy Christmas and Winter Break I have finally had a chance to put away our gifts. It has all been under our Christmas tree waiting for me. :) Before putting some of my present away I took a few pictures of some of the cute items that I received.
Here are some of the crafty items that I received from some good friends.
I appreciate all the extra love that I received during Christmas. Please don't feel that just because I did not post what you gave to me that I do not like what you gave to me. Lots of love and hugs and big hugs to all of you.

Our Little Getaway

Sorry I haven't had a crafty post for the past three posts. Today I don't either, but I promise to have one for my next post. :) My family and I took a mini vacation to San Diego for two days. It was a beautiful two days there. Check out out the beautiful scenery and
some of the yummy food that we ate.
I of course did some shopping at the outlet too. I was good and limited myself to only going into a few stores. :) Our last stop before heading home is spending the day at
It always amazes us how everything there is made out of legos.
I hope that all of you are having a fun and crafty 2012 so far. I am having fun, but haven't done any crafting yet this year. I hope to be able to get some crafting in before I need to go back to work.

New Year's At Disneyland

The day is always magical when my family and I are able to spend it at Disneyland, but it was extra special to be able to celebrate New Year's there. We all had lots of fun riding on the rides, taking pictures with the characters,
watching the parade,
visiting Santa's Village,
(It was neat to be able to see a real deer
and a donkey.)
sharing a chimichanga and turkey leg, and watching the fireworks.
The 4 of us were happy to be able to go to Disneyland one last time before they took down all the Christmas decorations. I hope that all of you had a magical day in your own way for New Year's.
