Some Thanksgiving Goodies

I hope that all of you had a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. My family and I had a memoroable celebration. Each year I like to surprise family and friends with a crafty item that I have made and sometimes a store bought item just to express my family and my grateful for them. This is what I came up with this year.

It was lots of fun making the turkeys using different punches along with the tags. I saw a similar turnkey online, but I addeded a few punched items to it. Sorry I don't remember the person that I got the idea from online.
Benson and I like to surprise our kids with a gift each holiday too. We gave these to our kids as their Thanksgiving gifts. They were so excited to receive them.

One last item that I would like to share is a turkey that my students at work made for my cousin that is in the army.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy shopping!

Sanrio's 50th Anniversary

Last Sunday after my family and I got home from our mini vacation in San Diego we went straight to the Sanrio 50th Anniversary event at the Santa Monica Hanger. (We dropped our kids off at my in-law's house first.) I was wowed right when we got to the parking lot. At the entrance was a Hello Kitty car. It was super cute. ( I added getting a Hello Kitty car to my Christmas wishlist as soon as I saw it.)

At the door we were greeted by a huge rainbow with the Sanrio characters in the middle of it.

They did a great job in decorating the Hanger. It had huge balloons in the shape of many of the Sanrio characters. I like Hello Kitty, but my favorite one was the one of the monkey.

The event was set up like a faire. They had games booths where you could win prizes,

food booths,

face painting, a sand art booth, a mini golf course,

and a ferris wheel.

They also had painted murals that you could take pictures in front of

as well as an art exhibit. Here are a some of my favorite pieces of art.

The Hanger is huge, but it was packed with so many people. We were surprised to see so many males at the event keeping their wives or girlfriends company. I got to take pictures with a few more Hello Kitty cars along

with the nerdy Hello Kitty and

Keroppi.

While Benson played the games to help me win some cool prizes (He had to purchase tickets to be able to play in the games.), I waited in line to go shopping at the Sanrio Pop Up store. Here are the prizes that Benson helped me win. It took him several tries to win me the cute bag. At the end before we left he was able to win 3bags.

The line to get to go shopping was a 2 hour wait. We could not believe it. They only let a specific number of people into the store to control the shoplifting. The store had some cute items, but sadly it was not worth the 2 hour wait.

I purchased several items, but the lunch box above with the characters at the Obon festival. We had fun at the event but were super tired at the end of the day. With being away from home for 4 days in SD and attending the Sanrio event, we were so happy to get to go home to sleep in our own beds.

Amazing Work

I do not have anything crafty to share today, besides the awesome works of art made with legos at Legoland that my family and I saw over the 4 day weekend. We went to San Diego for a mini vacation and went to Legoland for 2 out of the 4 days. The weather there was perfect. It felt very nice to get away for a bit. Here are a few of the many works of art that we saw.

We have been to Legoland many times and it never ceases to amaze us what they built with legos. Everytime we go there it feels like we have traveled all over the world in a few days. Besides seeing going to Legoland, we had fun going shopping,

eating yummy food,

and enjoyed walking on the pier.

I hope that all of you had as good 3 or 4 day weekend as my family and I did and is having a good week so far.

Someone Special is Six Years Old Today

Today is my "Little Man's" sixth birthday. It has been such a blessing having him in our lives for the past six years and we are so thankful for how God has helped him mature into such a cute, bright, funny, and all around great little guy. May the Lord continue to watch over him and help bless him in all areas of his life. To help him celebrate we took him out to dinner on when we went on our mini vacation to San Diego over our 4 day weekend. He loves seafood so we took him to one of our favorite restaurants called "Anthony's." Today we gave him a little gift along with a little cake.

On Saturday he will be having a party with some of his friends at Chuck E Cheese.
