A Card For a Friend and A Card From a Friend

I hope that this post is finding you doing well and having a good week so far. Mine has been a bit more tiring then I would like. Going to Disneyland on Sunday after church got me worned out before the week even started. It was fun on the most part, but by the time it was 8pm I was ready to leave. Of course my kids were still full of energy like the Energizer Bunny. :) Well, today I would like to share with you two cards- one that I made to send to a friend last month

and a card that a friend sent to me this month.

I hope that you are inspired to do some stamping/crafting by what I shared today. Happy stamping/crafting!

Two Terrific Cards

Yes, another post for today. Are you surprised? :) Well, I have only worked on two stamping projects since I went back to work 3 weeks ago. I have either been too tired or not in the mood to craft. This week I had to schedule in time on my "to do" list to make two cards which I will share with you next week. It felt very relaxing to get into the groove of stamping again. Today I wiould like to share with you two cards that my friend Grace made for me.

Aren't they terrific? Thanks for dropping by today. Onto some more crafting to catch on some projects. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Pun Fun and Primary Colors

The optional themes for the tea swap this month was pun fun or primary colors. The person that I was paired up with and I decided to incoporate both themes. This is what Jan came up with along with the tea that she sent to me. I just love how she used different color buttons for the lollipops. What a great idea! I wonder if there are polka dot lollipops. If there aren't I definitely think there should be. It would be lots of fun to eat one like that. Don't you think so?

This is the card that I made for her.

Aren't these themes so much fun?

Out to Dinner With Friends From SF

I can't believe that another weekend is over and another week is just about to begin. Time is just going by too fast. I hope that you had a good weekend. My family and I ended our weekend in a perfect way by having time and spending time with some friends. Our friends James and Gail from SF were in SoCal for the past few days to help their daughter settle into her dorm. (Gail and I have become good friends over the past year. We initially met as tea swap partners and clicked right off the bat. The first time we met each other was this summer.) We ate at

We enjoyed a delicous meal together

and of course ended it with some yummy dessert- a mixed fruit icee

and coconut butter toast.

Do you think I ate the entire piece by myself. :)

My family surprised our friends with a little gift.

Beard Papas is one of our favorite places to get dessert. I gave Gail a cute bamboo recipe box because I know how much she enjoys baking. We hope that they liked what we surprised them with. Thanks James and Gail for a wonderful evening and for treating us for dinner. Have a safe trip home!

What A Great Blog

I was looking at different blogs today to try to get myself inspired to work on some of my craft projects. On a friend's blog I saw that one of her friends is giving away some blog candy. I think it's always fun to play along and try to win some fun items so I went to her friend's blog. The blog is super fun and creative. Check it out if you have a chance. August Secret Sister Swap

This is what I sent to my secret sister,Shirl, last month. I die cutted an ice cream for her using a die from Stampin Up called Petal Cone. Inside the cone I slipped wrote a message to her on a piece of CS that I cut into the shape of a cone.

My secret sister made me this elegant card. Thanks Linda for the such a great card.

Even though I have lots of crafting projects to do, I have not been in the mood to work on them. I hope that I am soon before I get anymore behind. Unlike me I hope that all of you are having fun crafting.

Special Gifts From Good Friends

Happy Monday! I hope that all of you had a memorable weekend. It's always amazes me with what my friends surprise me with from time to time. Recentely, three good friends used their special gifts from the Lord to make me some fun RAKS. My friend named Sandy made these pot holders for me and a cute card. They are much too cute to use.

Another good friend named Sandy made this cute card and bag for me using her Cricut.

Check out all the work she did inside the card too.

Last, but not least Sherri made these cute, delicous cupcakes for me.

I thank the Lord for each of the ladies and the friendship that we share. I also thank Him for the different gifts that God has blest each of them with to spread His love to others.

In Honor of 9-11

What happened to our great country 10 years ago will forever be remembered. I will not only remember the tragedy that happened but will continue to give praises to God for how He helped our country to unite against the evil that happened. I pray that God will continue to help our country to continue to unite despite our color, ethnicity, age, social economic status, etc. In honor of what happened my family and I wore red, white, and blue outfits to church this morning. After church we delivered the card that we made and the goodies that we purchased

to a local fire department to let them know that we appreciate them and are always praying for them.

The kids were so happy to get to have tour of the fire station, to meet some firefighters, and to get to see some fire trucks.

We also made a card and gave a closer family friend that is paramedic a giftcard to say "thanks."

My family and I will forever be grateful to all the men and women that lost their lives 10 years ago and will continue to keep all their family in our prayers. We will also always be grateful to all the men and women that serve our country to keep us safe and for all of them who keep our communities safe.

A Super Busy Saturday

What a long, but fun day it was today. We were out from 8am to 8pm with only about an hour to rest at home in the middle of the day. In the morning we dropped our kids off at my parents house because we had a kick off meeting at church. The main focus was getting all the children's workers to work on having a closer relationship with each other. We had 3 sessions that had this focus. At the end of our meeting we had lunch from the Kogi Truck that served Korean Tacos.

We had a choice of chicken, beef, or tofu.

We had a chance to try all three. We like the beef on the best. We were were off to one of my sisters house for her b-day/farewell luncheon. Our kids were brought to the party my parents. When we got there our kids were playing with their cousins.
Then my sister gave a special speech to give glory to God for His provision in her life. Then we sang happy b-day to her.

Before leaving I took a picture with my sisters.

We were then off to run some errands before going home to rest before we go out to dinner for Benson's grandmother's b-day. Our favorite dish was the lobster.

After dinner we were happy to go home for the day to rest up to prep for church tomorrow. I worked on some name tags for the cubbys for my for my class. My class name is fish so I purchased some fish from a teacher store and die cutted paper for the waves and seaweed.

I think they turned out pretty cute, don't you? :)

First Day of Preschool

I was hoping to write this post yesterday, but unfortunately I was too tired to. A day late in posting I guess is better than not posting it at all. Well, yesterday was another exciting day for my family and I. It was the first day of preschool for my daughter. Before leaving for school we gave her a beginning of the school year present. (She liked what we gave her so much that she opened it before we had a chance to take a picture of her with the box. As you can see some of the pieces are missing in the box.)

The night before we prayed with her and wrote her a special first day of school message. She was very excited to go to school, but did not want to wear her tennis shoes. She wanted to wear Crocs like she did all summer. Then when we convinced her to wear her tennis shoes she did not want to wear socks. Finally we were out the door with socks and tennis shoes on. My hubby and I were both fortunate enough to have the opportunity to drop our daughter off on her first day. On the way there she was asking us off and on about why she has to wear tennis shoes and socks. When we got to school thankful she was fine and was on her merry way to the classroom.

On the way there of course we took lots of pictures. As we were waiting in line to for her classroom to open she was observing what the other kids in her class were wearing and had. She asked us "how come other kids are wearing croc and have backpacks?" We told her that we would ask her teacher if it's okay for her to wear Crocs and if she wants to she can bring a backpack to school. As soon as the door opened we went in. She found her name tag on the table and put it on. She told the teacher that her last name does not start with a "W" as it was written on her name tag. She waved "good bye" to us and went to the restroom to wash her hands as she was asked to by her teacher. She had a wonderful first day of school. She told us that she has two friends that she plays with and likes to play on the playground.

Here is her first work of art that she brought made in preschool.

We thank the Lord for helping our daughter adjust so well to going to preschool. We pray that she will have a wonderful experience this year in preschool and that she will learn lots acadmically, mature socially, and have lots of fun.

C.A.T.S for August

Happy Wednesday! I hope that this post is finding you all having a fabulous week so far. Mine has been very busy and tiring with not much time or energy to do any crafting. :( I hope to be able to soon. What I have to share with you today is last months C.A.T.S. It was super nice that I was paired up to swap with one of my friends, Gail. This is what she made for me.

Isn't what she made for me awesome? The window is actually able to slide.

Thanks so much Gail for blessing me which such a wonderful card

and fun goodies.
This is what I made for her.

I made her card and tag soon after I came back from Hawaii so I was in the mood to make an island themed card. I also surprised her with some goodies. I made her decorate a clip for her and gave her a tablet and pen that I got for her from Hawaii.

I also gave her these items.

A Surprise For My Co-Workers

Today was my second day back at work and official first day of school for the students. As a beginning of the school year gift for my co-workers I decorated a magnetic clip for each of them and attached them to a notepad. I decorated two different kinds of clips.

I also printed out a little note to each of them and stamped an eagle on it. An eagle is our mascot.

It's always lots of fun surprising my co-workers with a little some thing once in awhile to let them know how special they are to me and how grateful I am for them. Work would definitely not be as fun without them. :)
