This card is from Cary. I love the colors that she used and the punch that she used to make the vase.

This card is from Michelle. I love the DSP that she used and the extra cute stamp of the cat. Check out the shading that she did with her Copic markers when she colored the cat.

This tag is from my friend Suzanne. Both of us share the love of Asian stamps and we try to surprise each other as often as we can with Asian cards and/or tags. This is such an elegant tag.

Stamps, Stamps, and More Stamps

I had my annual SU workshop/party almost 3 weeks ago with my friend that is a demonstrator for the company. I gave my friends a week to turn in their orders. My friend placed the orders shortly after and they arrived on Thursday.

I spent about an hour on Thursday with the help of Benson after our kids went to sleep to check that everything that was ordered arrived and sorted them all out. Here are all the goodies that were ordered. Our entry room looked like it was a store.



I thank each of my friends that placed an order and hope that they are all having lots of fun using them this weekend. With all the orders placed I was able to earn some very nice free goodies from SU. Here are the items that I picked out.

Almost all the orders were delivered to my friends on Friday. I was unfortunatly not able to have enough time to make my "thank you" gifts for them. I will be surprising them shortly with it. As soon as the gifts are done I will be sure to share them with you.

Aloha RAKS

My friend in Hawaii started up the "Aloha RAK" swaps again. Each participate is assigned a person to shower with a handmade card, 3D item, or both that follows a certain theme. This month's theme was to make some thing that is pink, brown, and white. We are also asked to mail our partner 5 stamped impages. The theme was simple for me since that is one of my very favorite color combos. A nice gal from Arizona named Jovita and I were partners for this month. This is what I sent to her.

For the pouch I used the Sizzix daisy die, the top notch die from Stampin Up, and the swiss dots embossing folder from Cuttlebug. For the handle I used one of the oval punches from Stampin Up. I thought would be nice to make a matching little card to put in the pouch. I really liked how both of the pouch and the card turned out. BTW, for the pouch I cut a small paper bag so that it would be same size as the top notch die cut.
This is what she sent to me. I love the giant book marks.


Check out her coloring and how realistic the ice cubes look. Besides the cool book marks,cute card, and stamped impages, she also sent me some extra goodies. Thank you so much Jovita for what you sent my way. It was an extra blessing to be paired up wiht Jovita because she is also a Christian. It was cool to share about our faith in God through our e-mails.

A Special Concert

Happy Saturday! We hope that you are having a good day so far. We are thankful that we don't have much planned this weekend since all our other weekends have been packed. The only thing we have planned is having dinner with Benson's brother Sam and his wife Jennifer this evening. It fun just to be home to get to relax and enjoy each others company.

To help start our weekend we had the opportunity to go to a Hawaiian concert last night to listen to one of our favorite Hawaiian artists Keali'i Reichel. (No we did not get his autograph last night. We wrote to him awhile back after one of our concerts to let him know how much we enjoyed it. A few weeks after we wrote to him he sent us an autograph picture.) This the the first time that the place that he was performing was so close to us. It was at the Disney Concert Hall which is only about 30 minute from us. We had an awesome time as usual listening to him sing and watching the hula dancers perform as he sang. The singing was extra nice this time because he also hired some extra musicians. We also really enjoyed his great sense of humor. His sense of humor is extra cool accompanied by his Hawaiian accent. It is always such a speical treat for us to go to his concerts. Being at the concert last night made us long even more to vacation in Hawaii again. We are thinking about going either this summer or next summer.

The audience was told that we are not allowed to use cameras or video cameras during the concert. We were a bit bummed about that, but we did whip out our camera at the end of the concert when the performers were saying their "goodbyes" and "thank yous" to the audience. We apparently were not the only ones that took a picture of them.

As we were anticipating of the arriving of the day we get to go to the concert, we were thinking about what to wear. We usually wear a Hawaiian attire to his concerts,but we weren't sure if we should do that this time since it was at the Disney Concert Hall. As we though some more about it we decided to still wear our Hawaiian clothes since we are going to a Hawaiian concert. We are glad that we stuck to that because that is what most of the people were wearing.
As we were about to leave to go home we heard some people calling our name. It was Benson's brother Sam and his wife Jennifer. We were very surprised to see them. We never new that they liked Hawaiian music.

St. Patty's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Did all of you wear some thing green today. I hope that all of you are having a good week so far. The weather has been great here in California. It feels almost like summer. Come back soon because I will soon be sharing some new projects and cards with you. Have a Christ filled rest of the week!

A Swap Between Two Good Friends

My dear friend Susanna and I swapped cards on Sunday. I made her the red and orange card with the daisies on it that I posted in a previous post and gave her a little RAKS. She likes Hello Kitty and Hawaii just like I do so I gave her a combo of both. I used a retired SU standard wheel to roller blue hibiscus on the envelope. I rollered it in blue because that is her favorite color.

Thanks Susanna for such a cute card and for the cute notepads and stickers. I love them! She told me that she thought of a few things to do to make the card better after it was finished. I think the card looks really nice just the way it is. I was a little sad to need to go in for work on my day off for a special training. Openning Susanna's gift on Sunday evening helped me to have a better attitude about going to work on my day off. Thanks Susanna for the encouragement.

Some Lovely Cards

I hope that all of you had a good week and is having a good weekend so far. I am so happy that today is Saturday so that my family and I can all sleep in for a bit and relax. Although this week was not too busy at work, I did not get a chance to do too much stamping since I was preoccupied with some other things on both of my days off from work. I was fortunately able to make this card that I copied from one of the classes that I have taken awhile back from a Stampin Up Demonstrator names Sandy Hancock.

I used the layout from Sandy to make this card for several card swaps for this month. I used the "Swiss Dots" embossing folder as well as the Daisy Big Shot die. For the strip that looks like rick rack I made it using one of the border punches from Stampin Up.

Before I end my post for today, I would like to share with you two very cute cards that I recieved this week. This adorable Hello Kitty card is made by my friend Roberta.

This elegant Asian is from Jennifer. She also sent me a cute butterfly clear stamp.

A Fun Night of Crafting and Fellowship

I had the opportunity to invite some friends over on Monday for my annual Stampin Up workshop. My friend Dawn who is a demonstrator for Stampin Up was nice enough to show us how to make 3 fun projects using the Big Shot. Before showing us how to do the projects, she had several raffles where some people won stamp sets or free shipping and tax. As a "thank you" to me Dawn gave me a punch that you could earn from the salebration catalog.

While we were crafting away Zach and Kylie were having fun hanging out with thier friends. Before the evening ended I took pictures with all my guests/friends. Each of us also enjoyed a custard for dessert as we browsed through the catlogs trying to figure out what we want to order.










Being able to hang out and do what we all love to do after a long day at our perspecitve jobs was very relaxing. I hope that they all had as much fun as I did. Thanks for stopping by today.

Some Thing Creative For Chinese New Year

On Saturday my hubby, my kids, and I celebrated Chinese New Year with my side of the family at a local Chinese restaurant. As usual the the food was delicous and it was lots of fun seeing everyone- parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. In my family we not only give each other red envelopes to wish each other a "Happy New Year" but we also give each other some yummy treats. This is what we received. We are savoring each bite of each item.

I wanted to make some thing to add a creative touch to our package. The stamp that I used is from Mari and Me. (The kids doing the dragon dance remind of of my kids.) I have had the stamp for awhile but never had the chance to use it. I am glad that I was finally able to get it inked. :) Thanks for stopping by to check out what I created.
