Creations With Hello Kitty on Them

Those of you that know me well knows that one of my favorite characters is Hello Kitty. I think I like her more now than I did when I was little. In the past month or so I have made several cards/gifts with HK on it. Here they are!

Today

This is both a joyous and sad day for my family and I. It is a joyous one because it is the day Colleen's sister was born. Happy birthday Carlene/Auntie Carlene! It is a sad day as well because of the great tragedy that occured 9 years ago.
Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go out to the families of those that lost their lives on that day. That day and the people will forever be remembered.

Some "Happy Mail"

So happy that it is Friday and that it will soon be the weekend. I hope that all of you had a good week. Today I'd like to share some RAK that I have received recently through the mail. One of my friends call receiving a RAK or a handmade card "happy mail." I consider it to be "happy mail" too. I am sure many of you agree. This first RAK is from ManLe. She sewed the kleenex holders for me. They are so cute. I wish I was as talented as she is. She can craft and sew. Thanks again ManLe for surprising me with them.

This RAK is from The Young Family. Check out the cool Hawaiian t-shirts. The kids of course love the toys and I love the HK items that she made for me. I will try to share the box of chocolates with Benson and the kids. Thanks for thinking of us.

August's Aloha RAK Swap

The theme for the Aloha RAK swap for last month, organized by my good friend in Hawaii Jen Young, was to make a card with eyelets on it and if you like send your partner some eyelets. This is what I made for my partner

My Weekend and Some Creative Items from 2 Good Friends

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a good weekend and is having a good day off today. I had a very fun one. On Saturday my family and ran errands and purchased some items from Zach's teacher's wishlist and ate at IHOP to celebrate and praise God for bringing Zach and I through the first week of school. Yesterday Benson and I went out to the Torrance/Carson area after church to visit some of the Japanese stores, my favorite rubber stamp store, and eat at one of our favorite Hawaiian restaurants- Back to Lahaina. Check out the ono food and desert. :)



We went there to celebrate our belated 11th anniversary which was at the end of July. On our actual anniversary we had a little celebration while we were in Hawaii by spending the day with some good friends at the Ocean Center in Maui. Eating at Back to Lahaina brought back many happy memories of our most recent trip to Maui in July with our kids.



Today we are at home relaxing, catching up on house work, and catching up on some projects. It feels very nice just to be home and not to worry about rushing to different places. Since I did not do any stamping this weekend, I will be sharing with you some creative creations from two good friends. This super creative card is from Gracie.

Some Swaps from August

I praise God for helping me make it through the first week of school. Even though I only work 3 days a week I feel like I have been there for so much longer. I am exhausted and am so thankful that it is the weekend. I so happy that I have some time to post a few picttures of some swaps and possibly even do some stamping. All week I was either too busy or tired to any stamping.
The theme of the OCS was to make an Asian themed card. I was so excited when I found out about what the theme is because I love making and receiving Asian cards. Here is the card that I made.

This is the card that Cindy made for me. It was funny that we both ended up using the same embossing folder. Thanks Cindy for such a cute card.

Last month a very creative person named Kyoko started a tag swap. I thought it would be fun to receive and make some tags so I signed up. We were each asked to make 3 identical Christmas tags. My partner Nanea made these fancy tags for me. Check out all the detail on them.

This is what I made for her. I read on her blog that she likes Hello Kitty so I decided to make her a tag with Miss Kitty on it. I used my Spellbinders Shapeabilities Poinsentta die for the tag and put a sticker in the center of each one. The back of the it has the "to" and "from."

First Day of School

It was Zach's first day of school last Thurs. Yesterday was the first day back for teachers along with an Open House that I had to attend in the evening. Today was the first day of school with the kids. I am exhausted from yesterday as well as today, but am thankful to be back with my co-workers and students. This week as I was a bit sad about summer vacation ended, I make some beginning of the school year gifts for my co-workers. They either received a decorated procelin apple with paper clips or apple magnets


or a bag of snacks that I made a topper for.

I decorated the apples and wrote, "You are the apple of His eye." I had fun using one of the apple stamps from SU called Tart and Tangy for tags and to put on the bag topper. I think the gifts turned out pretty cute. I hope that my co-workers that received them felt the extra love today and will use what I gave them as a reminder of some good wishes when they have bad days. I hope that you enjoyed seeing what I created for my co-workers.
